Final reflection!
At the beginning of this trimester when I came into this class I knew somewhat about photography. I had some pryer knowledge for other classes I had taken to prepare going into this class. However the one thing I didn't know about the class and kinda scared me was photoshop. I had never used the software before. I remember the first photoshop assignment we had to do was the car and i struggled a bit at first but i just stuck to the instructions and I got it to look like the car it needed to be. After that I got familiar with the tools within photoshop.
Now when I go into photoshop to fix up a photo assignment I can do it within 5 minutes. I can even help someone else in the process. I feel much more comfortable with photoshop, a camera, and a computer. This class wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I was able to stay ahead of the class throughout the trimester leaving me like 20 minutes of class to do other homework or something. Leaving this class I plan on taking the part two to it. Actually have it 3rd trimester next year. I will then be able to expand more on Photoshop and other ways to take a photo, while making it interesting.

Photoshop Assignment # 7 - Multiple Me
For this assignment we were asked to go take several photos of ourselves and have it all in manual mode. We had to up a timer on because we had to take them of ourself. After we had to stack them all in the same photo to make it look really cool as if we were in several places at once.I don't think this was to hard of a job when first hearing about it.

Photo Assignment #7
Before> After>
For our final photo assignment I chose to do the subject black and white. It isn't as hard as i thought it would be with this assignment because we were able to take to collect photos over a rage of time. I know for this it's really important to make sure you have a subject because if you don't it really boring. The reason why is because there is no color to have you focus on.

Portrait
For this assignment we had to take two portrait photos; in studio and on without studio. We had pay attention to light and shadows to make the photo look good. I found it is much easier to take a photo in the studio compared to non studio. I think just the lighting isn't as easy to control when not in a studio.

Photo Assignment #6 - Food

Photoshop #5 - Open tutorial
Photo Assignment #5 - Macro
Before> After>
For this photo assignment I chose to do the subject macro. I found this hard but not. Like it was easy to put the camera into macro mood and take the photo, but deciding what I should take a photo of was the hard part. I learned that macro really focuses on the detail in objects. I think next time if I were going to do this assignment again I would try to take more photos of different objects.

Panorama
For this assignment we were asked to take several photos ad merge them together to create a panorama. By the end of the assignment we needed to have a total of 5 panoramas.
Considered we were allowed to use a tripod, this assignment was actually really simple. Really the only this that took the longest was to set up the tripod, take the photos, and walk back to class. The rest was just plug them in and the computer will do the rest of the work. Its cool to see the photos come together. I think these are preferred because they provide more detail. As in they capture more with in the photo.
Photo Assignment #4 - Open (pole vault)
Before> After>
For this assignment I chose to do my open. I really enjoy pole vault. Our meet at Fenton had a amazing weather, so it was perfect to take photos. This assignment was kinda hard because you have to have a fast enough shutter speed to capture the vaulter running or in the air. One vault really only takes about 15 seconds. Over all I think the photos turned out really nice and captures what pole vault is as a sport. |
Photoshop #3 - School
Before ^ After^
For this assignment we were asked to go out into the school and take a random photo. Our job from there was to photoshop it and make it look cool. We could add whatever we wanted in there or keep to a theme. I chose to go with the theme ice. I found this assignment kinda fun actually. When first hearing about it, I thought it was going to be really hard. I spent most of my time using the paint brush to add in the snow or to make the animals sides not to harsh. My goal was to make it look natural even though its not normal to have a high school half frozen. Over all, I'm really happy with my final product and think I'm not to bad a photoshop.

Photo Assignment #3 - Nature
ISO- 250
Shutter- 1/1000 Aperture- 3.5 This is a plant outside my dads house. For this assignment we were asked to take our weekly normal photos and I chose nature as my subject. This assignment was the first one that I actually likes the photos that I took. I found it really simple to take photos. Considering that it was nice and sunny out it was a good time to take this assignment.

Photoshop #2 - Photo Retouching
For this assignment we were given a photo and our job was to touch it up. The newest thing we used in this assignment was the clone tool. For me this assignment wasn't that hard because I just followed the directions as written. When looking at my editing work, I think it looks just like the demo example. I feel much more comfortable in photoshop from the beginning of the trimester.

Photo Assignment #2 - Event
For this assignment I chose event as my subject. I was at my churches Chili Cook Off. This assignment was actually harder than I thought. Because it is a event I had to find things that symbolized the event with out just taking a picture of a sign. If i were to change anything was take more pictures of the actual chili than the talent show portion.

Photoshop #1 - Pop art
For this assignment we were asked to take a photo of ourself and photoshop it. this was to intro us into photoshop. Get us use to some of the common things with in it. This is new to me because ive never actually used photo shop before. Well, besides the filters you could chose on instagram. I think this assignment looks really cool.

Photo Assignment - inspiration #2
For this photo assignment Im focus to choosing on the subject NATURE.
Here are some examples:
Here are some examples:
With choosing the subject nature I want to capture lighting, perspective, and texture. I want to capture the toughest beauty. I think the natural thing to do this will be finding the diffrent perspectives.

Photo Assignment - Inspiration
For my first photo assignment of this class I chose to work on the subject PEOPLE. I want to take photos of people with a nice depth of field. For this I will need to adjust my aperture.
Here are some examples of people:

These are good examples of the subject people because they examples of the person. There is not much distraction. They use many elements of composition. Im using these as inspirational because I want to work on my depth of feild
Compositional Study
For this assignment we were told to take photos for the 11 elements of composition. Before we went out to take photos we first had to take note/ability each element of research. From there we were asked to go out and take a couple of photos of each element to the best of our composition
With this assignment I learned about the 11 elements of techniques. I realized through this assignment that I have most of the compositional compositional down. I found it was hard to take a photo with only one element to represent. I think out of all of the photos I took for this assignment my favorite was the framing. I like just how the photo turned out. When you look at it you see her eyes because her hands lead you there. I felt like this assignment was very broad, like there was a lot of wiggle room to do what you want. I think that is why I had such a hard time deciding what I wanted to take a photo of. For me, I need more structure I guess. At the end of this assignment I realize the importance of the techniques compositional and feel like I can take good photos.
